The Street-Legal Scorcher Approaches the Sunset: Sixth-Generation Collector’s Edition Camaro to Arrive in Early 2024

After nine incredible years and hundreds of thousands of models rolling off lots nationwide, the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro is now situated at the end of its exhilarating and memory-making time on duty! The final models are set to proudly roll off the assembly line at Michigan’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in January 2024. It’s available in both soft-top and coupe models and has earned quite a reputation here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis for its fantastic handling and amazingly athletic performance. 

Magnetic Ride Control was made available on the Camaro SS during its 6th generation, and the track-scorching 1LE package was available for all levels of the lineup. The most seasoned asphalt enthusiasts were incredibly pleased, along with the 650-horsepower ZL1 1LE officially claiming the fastest time for any Camaro around GMs Milford Road Course at the world-famous Milford Proving Ground in Michigan. This location that is hailed by diehard Camaro fans was the very first dedicated automotive testing facility in the world, and remains one of the largest locations to make sure these high-octane devices are good to go for public use! 

Global Chevy Vice President Scott Bell remarked that while it is definitely a bit difficult to say goodbye to the current generation Camaro, we have realized just how thankful we are for each dedicated Camaro customer. The proud employees out there making the finished product so fantastic on the assembly line and every race fan in the stands of tracks nationwide will be pleased to know that this is not the end of the Camaro story, but merely a rich plot change of how the main character sources its energy!

The Collector’s Edition package on the Camaro RS and SS will serve as the ultimate celebration of this illustrated and legendary nameplate, commemorating age-old ties that roared to life in the 1960s. This sixth-generation model has delighted race fans with its amazing performance in NASCAR, IMSA, SRO, NHRA, and the Supercars Championship. Motor Trend has heavily praised the current 2023 Camaro model for “bountiful engine choices, extraordinary handling, and being an all-out bargain regarding performance.” 

Added items for the year that spiced up the already dazzling Camaro were new wheel designs for LS, LT, SS, and LT1 trims, and New Radiant Red Metallic and Sharkskin Metallic color choices. The Camaro has also been a beacon of everything good in the changing auto landscape courtesy of its six-speed manual transmission throughout the entire lineup. These expert auto journalists also thought that the upcoming electric models will most likely ride on GM’s Ultium electric vehicle platform which is the ultra-capable bones for the GMC Hummer EV. 

Chevy equips the current model Camaro with a standard 7.0-inch digital infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The 1LT and 2LT trims offer the larger 8.0-inch, and the very useful Wi-Fi hotspot is also standard across the entire range. Confirmed track boasts can lift a model’s clout to the supermax level, and a Camaro 1SS 1LE lapped the Willow Springs track faster than an Audi V10 Plus, the highly-acclaimed Ferrari 458 Italia, and the Porsche Cayman GT4!
